| On Sunday, October 19th, the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department hosted its annual Fire Prevention Open House. Residents old and young visited the fire house for a fun filled day of fire prevention. There were many demonstrations, including car fires, auto extrication, kitchen stove / oven fire, fire truck rides, & fire hose handling. Nassau County Air Bureau flew in to show us one of the newest Helicopters in the fleet and Glen Cove Harbor Patrol, Glen Cove CERT Team, Glen Cove EMS were also in attendence. The children enjoyed learning fire safety around the house and thanks to the Jericho Fire Department for the smoke house. The day was definitely a success! |
