GENERAL ALARM CAR VS POLE ON SEA CLIFF AVE written by SJB, 02.21.2009
Saturday evening around 11:30pm, Glen Cove Police spotted a car traveling at high speed on Sea Cliff Ave by North Shore Farms.  Moments later GCPD reported that the vehicle had struck a pole with charged power lines burning the car.  Glen Cove Fire Dispatcher No. 1 immediately toned out with a General Alarm for a car into a pole.

 

Chiefs 5200, 5201, 5203 and Glen Cove EMS 5-0 responded to the scene, Engine 521 responded 1st due followed immediately by Heavy Rescue 522.  Subsequently, Engines 524, 528, 523 and Fire Police 527 responded with additional manpower.  The accident is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshals.

Due to the sensitive nature of the accident, more information will follow at a later date.
