GCVFD RESPONDS SIGNAL 33 MUTUAL AID TO BAYVILLE LOBSTER HOUSE FIRE - JANUARY 13, 2008. written by SJB, 01.13.2008
On a frigid and rainy evening Sunday January 13, 2008, Glen Cove Fire Dispatch, Dispatcher #2 signed on the air for GCVFD with a Signal 33, Mutual Aid to Bayville Fire Company for one engine. Engine 524 and Chief A.Tripp 5201 responded to Bayville Fire Company headquarters. Shortly upon arrival Bayville Command instructed Engine 524 to hit a hydrant and go to work at the scene, engulfed with thick smoke in the Bayville Lobster House.

Firefighter L.Mele hooked up the hydrant while Ex-Captain M.Capobianco operated Engine 524. Captain P.Grella, FF J.Valeo, L.Mele, A.Mellilo, G.Minella, and rest of the crew operated on the roof and rear of the building. An 1.75" and 2.5" lines were pulled and placed in the rear of the building.

Once Bayville Command directed Engine 524 to the scene, they called Dispatcher #2 for another Engine to standby at Bayville Fire Company's HQ. Chief V.Martinez 5200 and Engine 528 responded to the scene shortly thereafter. Also standing by at Glen Cove's HQ were FF B.Shapiro, M.Venturino, E.Makin, J.Peress, A.Levine, J.Macchione, & A.Graf Jr., ensuring that Glen Cove had ample fire protection during the mutual aid.
