SIGNAL 9: TWO CAR MVA ON FOREST AVE written by SJB, 02.13.2008
On Wednesday evening, February 13, 2008, at approximately 9:57pm, Glen Cove Fire Dispatch Operator No.2 signed on the air with a Signal 9 Auto Accident Request for the Hurst Tool on Forest Avenue, in front of Payless Shoe store. Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad responded immediately during a training class being held at the firehouse.

All Chiefs, 5201, 5203, 5200, & 5202 responded forthwit; Rescue 522 was first due, followed by Engine and Hose Company #4's Engines 524 and 528. Glen Cove Volunteer EMS responded with all ambulances 5281, 5281, and 5283, under the command of EMS Chief R.Gobbo. Sea Cliff Fire Department Ambulance 579 responded mutual aid. Chief Gobbo requested that Nassau County Aviation be notified for a helicopter which was later disregarded by EMS command, as the GCVFD Rescue Squad quickly extricated the patients from the vehicles to the ambulances.
