| It is with deep regret that the City of Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of 58 year active member of Pacific Engine & Hose Company #1, James Merrick. James Merrick, lovingly known as "Leopold", was an historian and comedian of sorts, always telling stories to fellow firefighters and bringing smiles to faces down at the firehouse. Rarely does a firefighter make 50 years of voluntary service to the community of Glen Cove, but James Merrick served dutifully for 58 years. He will be missed.
Wake and Funeral arrangement for James Merrick, McLoughlin/Kramer Funeral Home Monday 3-5 & 7-9PM. Fire Department Services at 8pm. Funeral Services Tuesday 11am at Reformed Church Locust Valley. |
