| SIGNAL 9 OVERTURNED TRUCK ON RT 107 ARTERIAL HIGHWAY - GLEN COVE RD & TOWN PATH written by SJB, 06.10.2008 |
| On a sweltering Tuesdsay evening 5:47pm, June 10, 2008, Glen Cove PD received reports of a car accident on Glen Cove Road and Town Path. Glen Cove PD called Glen Cove Fire Dispatch; Dispatcher No.1 signed on the air with a signal 9 auto accident, request for the hurst tool. A Lt. and Rescue driver were already in headquarters readying for a training session when the alarm was dispatched. Chief's 5200, 5201 and 5203 responded forthwith to the scene followed shortly by Heavy Rescue 522. Engine 524 and 521 responded with additional manpower. Chief 5203 was able to extricate the driver through the sunroof of the overturned truck and Glen Cove EMS was able to safely package the driver and take him to the hospital.
